UUCB Sunday Forum
Putting a Face on Immigration
Many feel the current system is not working for millions of families here in this country. And our Forum topic will be "Is the US Immigration System Broken?"
We will explore important and controversial topics about the Immigration System in the United States. Business, Education, Health Care are all seriously affected by what appears to be "gridlock" in resolving the complexities of our immigration policy.
Featured presenters include:
Lisa Duran, who is the Executive Director of Rights for All People, an immigrant rights organizing project based in Denver, Colorado. And leaders of the Immigrant Communities who are most affected by the contradictions in the US immigration and economic policies.
This Forum is produced in conjunction by the Immigration Task Force of the Social Justice Council of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Boulder and co-sponsored by KGNU Community Radio and the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center.

Growth Busters: Hooked on Growth
Discussions to Follow with Filmmaker David Gardner
Open to the public--FREE--bring a friend
This documentary flips our world upside down to see what makes it tick, as it explores the most critical question of our time: How do we become a sustainable civilization? It explores our obsession with urban and economic growth, and our reluctance to address overpopulation issues head-on. This documentary holds up a mirror, encouraging us to examine the beliefs and behaviors we must leave behind – and the values we need to embrace – so our children can survive and thrive.
“This could be the most important film ever made. It tackles the three lethal taboos that threaten our civilization, those against discussing overpopulation, overconsumption, and the nonsensical idea that economic growth itself is a net benefit even in rich countries and can and must continue forever.” Paul Ehrlich, Author, The Population Bomb
