UUCB Piano Rentals
UUCB has two pianos that can be rented, along with the rooms in which they’re located, for concerts, recitals, or private parties. Our pianos are described below. Guest pianists receive an orientation to the pianos prior to using them and are expected to adhere to church’s Piano Use Policy. Rates for the pianos and the rooms in which they are located are listed in the sample church rental contract.
Steinway Grand Piano – This is a great Steinway grand piano, and whoever plays it falls in love with it! It was built in New York in 1887 and has recently been completely rebuilt inside. It has a rich, mellow tone, and its size fits perfectly with the intimate space of the Earth Room, where it is located. The Earth Room has superb acoustics and is equipped with a sound system, making it a great location for concerts and special ceremonies needing live music. The front half of the room has V-shaped pews, with the back of the room open for extra seating or other activities. A beautiful stained glass feature near the piano further enhances this room (see photo of Earth Room). This is a perfect piano in a perfect setting for student recitals or performances as a solo instrument or as part of an ensemble. The piano rents for a flat rate of $25 on Sunday through Thursday and $50 on Friday and Saturday. In addition, there is an hourly charge for renting the Earth Room. |

Steinway Upright Piano – This piano is in fine condition, with very good tone. It is regularly tuned and is an excellent instrument to play at events held in the multi-purpose Sky Room, where it is located. The large and airy Sky Room has direct access to a kitchen, making it an ideal choice for a reception, dinner party, or other special event (see photo of Sky Room). The piano rents for a flat rate of $10 on Sunday through Thursday and $20 on Friday and Saturday. In addition, there is an hourly charge for renting the Sky Room. |
