Faith Development for Adults

UUCB offers a variety of classes and workshops each year for adults, which provide opportunities for members and friends to learn about a wide range of spiritual and social action topics, and to pursue their individual spiritual growth and development.

Here's a sampling of the topics for some workshops and classes we've offered:

One of the most popular classes UUCB offers periodically is "Build Your Own Theology," which is designed to provide a systematic, disciplined, and communal approach to a process whereby individuals create their own personal theology.

In addition to classes and workshops, UUCB has a reading room with books on a variety of religious and spiritual topics, as well as bookstores through which you can make purchases.

We are always looking for new ideas for adult religious education (RE) offerings. To suggest a class or workshop, or to volunteer to help with one, contact the Faith Development Coordinator:


Many Unitarian Universalists are people who grew up in some other religion, or who have never been a member of any religion and now have chosen to cast their lot with UUism. Those who have moved on from another religion often thought they didn't have a theology any more, and those who have never been a member of a religion often don't know what comprises a theology.

As a religion, UUism expects everyone to develop their own theology and their own individual credo through a free and responsible personal search for truth and meaning. UUism does not say what you have to believe to be a member, as we are a faith community without a collective creed.

The goal of UUCB's adult education offerings is to help individuals with this journey of discovery.
